Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment - Aged Care Assessment

Comprehensive geriatric assessment/aged care assessment is a multidisciplinary approach to the diagnosis and treatment of conditions that affect elderly patients. The assessment process will usually involve a team consisting of a doctor, nurse, physiotherapist, dietician, psychologist, and a social worker. It extends beyond medical management of illness and involves assessment of physical, cognitive, social, and environmental components that contribute to the health and wellbeing of the older patient.
